| The temple originated in the year 984 when Kaisan, a monk from Mt. Hiei, enshrined the Amida Nyorai statue of Jogyo-do Hall on Mt. Hiei in the villa of FUJIWARA no Senshi (mother of Empeor Ichijo). |
