| Shinkyogoku-dori Street was built immediately east of Teramachi-dori Street by rearranging the precincts of the shrines and temples gathered on Teramachi-dori Street (Teramachi-Kyogoku) because fairs held in the precincts became popular and attracted many visitors. |
