| On May 7, 1333, after the fall of Rokuhara Tandai (an administrative and judicial agency in Rokuhara, Kyoto), Moromoto was assigned as Dazai gon no sochi (Provisional Governor-General of the Dazai-fu offices) to capture Chinzei tandai (office of the military governor of Kyushu) which was the critical stronghold of the shogunate in Kyushu. |
