| It is said that Gyoki died in the year 749 at the age of 82 at Sugawara-dera Temple (now Kiko-ji Temple) in Heijokyo, and according to his will he was cremated at the eastern foot of Ikoma-yama Mountain and buried at Chikurin-ji Temple. |
行基は天平21年（749年）に平城京・菅原寺（現在の喜光寺）において82歳で生涯を終え、遺命により生駒山の東陵で火葬され、竹林寺に埋葬されたといわれる。 |
