| After the Restoration of Imperial Rule, in January, 1868, he joined the Meiji government by working as sanyo (Councilor), gijo (regislator) and the Ministerial Governor of Internal Affairs concurrently, and became the captain of the Internal Affairs Secretariat in February. |
