According to Ieyasu's will, his body was buried in Mt. Kuno in the southeast of Sunpu (present Tosho-gu Shrine on Mt. Kuno) initially, but after the first anniversary of his death, was re-buried in Tosho-sha Shrine in Nikko City due north of Edo-jo Castle. |
