When the Shimabara Rebellion took place in 1637, he was busily engaged in dispatching arrangements of troops and negotiations with Bakufu and other Domains by the order of Tadatoshi HOSOKAWA, the lord of the Domain, and went into battle leading his own troops of over 3,700 soldiers in the battle of the Hara-jo Castle. 寛永14年(1637年)に島原の乱が起こると、藩主細川忠利の命により派兵の手配、幕府や他藩との交渉に奔走し、翌年の原城の戦いでは、自ら3,700余りの兵を率いて出陣した。 |
