Akari shoji, assumed to have been made on the occasion of reconstruction of Daishido House in the western section of To-ji Temple during the period of the Northern and Southern Courts (Japan) (more specifically, in 1380), is said to be the oldest akari shoji in existence. 南北朝時代 (日本)期康暦二年(1380年)の東寺西院大師堂の再建当時のものとされている明障子が、最古の明障子といわれている。 |
