The sliding screen paintings in the Kiku-no-ma (Chrysanthemum Room) of the Ohojo (Large Guest House) were done by Nobumasa KANO and it is said that originally sparrows were painted above the white chrysanthemum but were so lifelike that they came to life and flew away. 狩野信政が描いた大方丈の菊の間の襖絵で、万寿菊の上に数羽の雀が描かれていたが、あまりにも上手に描かれたので雀が生命を受けて飛び去ったといわれる。 |
