The guest hall of the Shoin zukuri (a traditional Japanese style of residential architecture that includes a tokonoma) was a reconstruction of 奥対面所 of Nyoin Palace (the palace for court ladies who received In title or equivalent) in Tofukumon in (Emperor Gomizunoo's court lady, Tokugawa second Shogun, Hidetada's daughter) which was constructed in 1677. 書院造の客殿は、1677年(延宝5年)造営された東福門院(後水尾天皇女御、徳川2代将軍秀忠娘)の女院御所の奥対面所を移築したものである。 |
