The first historical reference to the shrine appears in the "Nihon Sandai Jitsuroku" (sixth of the six classical Japanese history texts) entry for the 27th day of the 1st month of the year 859 (March 9, 859) when it was granted the rank of Jugoinojo (Junior Fifth Rank, Upper Grade). 文献の初見は『日本三代実録』貞観 (日本)元年(859年)年正月27日条の当社に従五位上の神階を授けるという記述である。 |
