The epitaph says that Shinsei SEI, a student from Japan was given the government post of "Shoihogyo (a chief of the department, with the fifth subordinate rank, to deal with Emperor's clothing)" because he died in January (any one day from 1 to 10, or 20), 734. 墓誌には、日本人留学生の井真成が、開元22年(西暦734年)正月■(朔~十,廿のいずれか)日に死去したので、「尚衣奉御」の官職を遺贈されたなどと記されている。 |
