The author wished to escape from the world and live as his heart leads, so he planned a travel to visit utamakura (places famed in classical Japanese poetry) and pay pilgrimages shrines without any companion, and he made poems on absence of absolutes using scenery and the nature that he encountered on the road. 著者は世を遁れて心のままにありたいと、歌枕を訪ね、神仏に詣でる旅を志し、同行者も断ってただ一人旅に出、行路の風物に託して無常を歌っている。 |
