On June 18, 1957, after a machiya (a traditional form of townhouse found mainly in Kyoto) (or shoka, merchants' house) (or shoka (mercantile house)) study conducted by the University of Tokyo, with posting of a munafuda (historical plaque on a building), it was designated as an Important Cultural Property in Japan. 東京大学による町屋 (商家)調査を経て、1957年6月18日に棟札とともに国の重要文化財に指定された。 |
