Mountains where Shugendo (Japanese mountain asceticism-shamanism incorporating Shinto and Buddhist concepts) training is conducted are called Buchu, and a training course starting in Kumano, located in the south, and finishing in Yoshino is referred to as Junbu while a training course where one starts in Yoshino and climbs and descends mountains is referred to as Gyakubu.
