Due to the separation of Buddhism and Shintoism in the first year of Meiji period, in 1874, the temple was abolished, but later, it was reconstructed as a Tendai-shu sect temple, and in 1948, after World War II, it became a Shugendo (Japanese ascetic and shamanistic practice in mountainous sites) linage nonsectarian temple. 明治初年の神仏分離に伴い1874年(明治7年)廃寺となったが、その後天台宗の寺院として復興、第二次世界大戦後の1948年(昭和23年)現在の修験道系統の単立寺院となった。 |
