Coming from a family of Jingikan (the Council of Shinto rituals) officers, he became a Jingitaifu (Deputy Director of the Council) with Shoshiinoge (Senior Fourth Rank, Lower Grade), serving as the Saishu (Officer of the Grand Shrines of Ise).
