Before the Edict of Separation of Shinto and Buddhism in 1868 in the Meiji period, the standing statue of eleven-faced Kannon Bosatsu was transferred from Daigorin-ji Temple, which was a jingu-ji temple (a temple associated with a shrine) of Omiwa-jinja shrine, to Shorin-ji-Temple. 明治の神仏分離令を前に慶応4年(1868年)に大神神社の神宮寺であった大御輪寺(だいごりんじ/おおみわでら)より十一面観音菩薩立像が移された。 |
