Ango originally meant to abstain from going out (outdoor ascetic practice) and stay in a place in the rainy season to prevent futile destruction of life, because plants grow rapidly and many small creatures, such as insects and snakes, become active in the rainy season. 本来の目的は雨期には草木が生え繁り、昆虫、蛇などの数多くの小動物が活動するため、遊行(外での修行)をやめて一カ所に定住することにより、小動物に対する無用な殺生を防ぐ事である。 |
