Along with "Sugawara Denju Tenarai Kagami" (Sugawara's secrets of calligraphy) and "Kanadehon Chushingura" (The Treasury of Loyal Retainers), which were created subsequently, Yoshitsune Senbonzakura came to be referred to as one of the three greatest works of Gidayu Kyogen (Kabuki adaptations of puppet plays).
後世『菅原伝授手習鑑』『仮名手本忠臣蔵』と共に義太夫狂言の三大名作のうちの二作目と評されるようになった。 |
