In the Bunroku War, he also joined the first army under the direct control of Hideyoshi and stayed at the Hizen-Nagoya-jo Castle as 'orusuzaijinshu' (troops staying in Japan) with Hidetsuna HACHIMANYAMA, his brother who had become his adopted son ("Taikoki" (Chronicle of Hideyoshi TOYOTOMI)). 文禄の役でも秀吉直属軍の第一陣として出陣、弟で養子の八幡山秀綱とともに肥前名護屋城に「御留守在陣衆」として在番している(『太閤記』)。 |
