In the parade are eight girls of around eight years of age wearing Kariginu (informal clothes for court nobles) and pots on their heads, so the festival is called 'the Nabekaburi matsuri' (the Pot-wearing Festival) and is often considered one of the three major strange festivals of Japan. その行列の中に狩衣姿の数え年8歳前後の少女8人が鍋を被って加わることから「鍋冠祭(なべかぶりまつり)」とも呼ばれ、日本三大奇祭の一つとされることがある。 |
