The temple's former principal image statue of Ksitigarbha seated in the half-lotus position (created during the latter half of the Kamakura period) was known as 'Mibu Jizo' and widely worshipped, but was destroyed by fire along with the main hall by an act of arson committed on July 25, 1962. |
