| The station was temporarily given the name 'Nishioji Station' but it was too easily confused with Nishioji Station on the JR Kyoto Line, so it was decided to add 'oike' to 'Nishioji' in order to have the same name as the crossing located just above the station, like Karasuma-oike Station. |
仮称駅名は「西大路駅」だったが、JR京都線の西大路駅と紛らわしいことから、駅名を決定するにあたり、烏丸御池駅と同様に真上に位置する交差点名が仮称駅名の後に付けられた。 |
