| Beginning with the fire of 1125, the temple can be confirmed to have met with disaster on at least 18 separate occasions by the end of the Edo period but its importance as a place of devotion for the masses and the hub of the community meant that it was rebuilt each time. |
この寺は、1125年（天治2年）の火災をはじめ、江戸時代末までの間に確認できるだけで18回の災害にあったが、庶民の信仰を集める寺であり、また町組の中核となる寺としてその都度復興されてきた。 |
